The Power of Advocacy

At Restart Inc, we believe in amplifying the voices of individuals with brain injuries and disabilities. Advocacy is about more than awareness, it's about action. It means fighting for accessible healthcare, inclusive education, employment opportunities, and policies that protect the rights and dignity of all individuals.

Why Advocacy Matters
Many people with brain injuries face barriers in everyday life, from securing proper medical care to finding employment that accommodates their needs. By advocating for change, we can:

  • Ensure equal access to healthcare, rehabilitation, and mental health services.
  • Push for inclusive policies in schools and workplaces.
  • Educate communities to reduce stigma and promote understanding.
  • Empower individuals with disabilities to lead independent, fulfilling lives.

How Restart Inc. Advocates

  • We are active members of ARRM, Leading Age, and the Brain Injury Alliance - engaging with lawmakers, and colloaborating with other advocacy organizations
  • Supporting the people we serve with life skills training
  • Ensuring person-centered care thar respects each person's choices and dignity
  • Helping the people we servce access resources like disability benefits, therapies, assistive technology, and more!
  • Coordinating with teams to ensure employment opportnities and equal opportunities for community engagement
  • Encourage self-advocacy for all our residents
